Test Of English As A Foreign Language (TOEFL) is one of the top two English proficiency tests accepted for students from non-native speaking countries. This test prepares students to exhibit their proficiency in English language which enables them to learn better while they go for the course abroad. The score of this test is valid for two years’ time frame.

This test includes four parameters on which a student is assessed which are:

This test is conducted to check the basic language skill required for an aspirant as the same is used in an academic, higher-education environment.

TOEFL is accepted in many leading universities in major leading education hubs. The result is valid for the span of two years.

TOEFL offers two ways by which an aspirant can take this test that are:

Paper Delivered Test (PBT): Paper delivered test is generally preferred by those who do not have access to internet or computers. The paper determines the skill set a candidate has on the parameters which are Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. The scoring and difficulty level is the same for Paper Delivered Test and Internet Based Test.

Internet Based Test (IBT): It is a computer based test which measures all four spectrum of a candidate that is reading, listening, speaking and writing.

TOEFL At Home: TOEFL Internet Based Test also provides the provision in the wake of COVID 19 Pandemic to access the TOEFL exam at your home itself. This exam will be monitored online by a human proctor.

The content, duration, score and acceptance of all the tests remain the same.

The scoring of the exam is segregated in the following manner:

For Paper Based Test, the scoring pattern goes from 0 to 677 where minimum score required to pass is 310. Any score from 309 or below results in failure and the candidate will be required to take a retest. On the other hand, Internet Based Test’s scoring varies from 0 to 120 where each of the four sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing) receives a scaled score from 0 to 30. The scaled scores from the four sections are added together to determine the total score.
